Hiya Claire,
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your
Keys to the Kingdom Tour question! This is truly such a special experience. My husband and I had the chance to do this tour at Magic Kingdom a couple of years ago, and we still talk about it all the time. From our incredible tour guide to all the behind-the-scenes stories, we basically became unofficial Disney historians after that day. Also, getting to go backstage and even underground felt like unlocking a whole new level of pixie dust.
So Claire, let’s jump right into your question. Whether you’re staying on or off property, you will need a
valid theme park admission to enter
Magic Kingdom. The Keys to the Kingdom Tour is a separate ticketed experience and does not include park admission. You’ll also want to make your park reservation in advance, as those are still required depending on your ticket type.
Since the tour typically begins at 8:00 AM, you’ll check in early by scanning your park ticket, and you may be asked to show your tour reservation as well. There is usually a designated entry for Guests with early tours or
dining reservations, so you can get into the park in time without missing a moment of the magic.
A few important things to keep in mind: photography and video are not allowed during the tour, including mobile phones, to help keep the magic behind the curtain. All Guests must be at least 16 years old to participate. If plans change, there is a 24-hour cancellation policy, and you’ll be charged the full price if you cancel within that window or do not show up.
And one more perk… there is a delicious lunch included during your adventure, which is the perfect way to refuel before continuing your journey through Disney history.
Claire, I hope this helps answer your question! If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again.
See ya real soon,
Christina
