Not staying on property this visit. Do you have to purchase the park hopper option if you want to attend character dining in a different park than you are attending? For example if we are visiting MK and want to got to Park Fare can we?

If you have only a basic park ticket, you can only visit one park per day. To visit a second park in the same day, you would need to purchase the park hopper option, even if you only wanted to enter the second park for a meal. However, the example you give is not impacted by your park ticket. The 1900 Park Fare restaurant is in the Grand Floridian hotel, not in a theme park. Anyone can dine at any of the restaurants in the hotels without any theme park ticket at all. So, if you are visiting the Magic Kingdom on a basic ticket, you do not need to upgrade to dine at 1900 Park Fare. Hop on the monorail and you're practically there.

    Happy dining.
