If we are not staying at a park but purchase park tickets from Disney site will we still get wrist bands for the park?

Hi Katrina and welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you’ve stopped in to see us! Thanks for visiting us with your question.

MagicBands are a super practical accessory for guests staying and enjoying the Walt Disney World Resort. The bands are linked to your My Disney Experience account, so they will help you enter theme parks, when tickets are linked to them. Right now, guests who stay at a hotel within the Disney Resorts Collection would not receive a complimentary band.

If you are visiting the theme parks you would need to purchase a band. But there are so many adorable designs with different price points on shopDisney to choose from, it might be hard to choose just one!

Katrina, you don’t need a MagicBand to be able to enter the theme parks. There are lots of different ways to enter the parks without one.

The newest addition to the My Disney Experience app will do just that! It’s called Disney MagicMobile. Just make sure the app for your smartphone is updated and you will see “Disney MagicMobile” as an option when you tap on the three lines to the right of your screen. Follow the instructions to set up your pass and you will be able to enter the parks using your I-phone or Apple watch.

When all else fails, you can always use an admission card to enter the parks, or scan your ticket from an e-mail either on your phone or via a printout, if you had your park tickets emailed to you.

Katrina, I hope I’ve been able to help. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to come back to see us. You can also follow us on Instagram for more planning tips.

    Have a magical visit!
