We are not staying at a Disney property but need to get from Magic Kingdom to Disney Springs. Is there a direct bus and what are the charges since we are not hotel guests? How long is the usual wait, this would be for Thanksgiving dinner at 7pm.

    Hi Angela,

A delicious Thanksgiving dinner at the most magical place on earth sounds AMAZING!

I'm happy to let you know that yes, there is a bus that will take you directly to Disney Springs from Magic Kingdom Park. It begins running at 4:00 p.m. and is complimentary for all Guests who are visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, so there won't be a charge for you to ride it! I'd normally tell you to plan on leaving Magic Kingdom Park 60-90 minutes before you need to be at your dinner, but because Thanksgiving is a rather popular time to visit, I'd suggest increasing that time. Buses will come, on average, every 20 minutes, but depending on the crowds that day, you may need to wait for more than one bus to come. The drive to Disney Springs generally takes around 20 minutes, but could vary due to traffic, and then depending where your dinner is, you'll want to plan on at least a few minutes to walk to that location.

I did want to let you know, though, that there is not a bus that runs directly from Disney Springs to Magic Kingdom Park. If you need to head back there to pick up your vehicle after your dinner, you'll need to first take a bus to a Disney Resort hotel, then transfer buses to Magic Kingdom Park. If you do have your own vehicle, you may want to consider just driving to Disney Springs yourself, where you'll enjoy complimentary parking. However you decide to travel, though, I'm sure it will be a wonderful Thanksgiving that you will NEVER forget!

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Angela, and please let us know if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical vacation!
