When will the Not So Spooky Halloween Party dates be released? Also, any Epcot 40th Celebrations happening in late September 2023. We are booked to arrive late Sept 2023 but unsure how to reserve my park days. Thanks!

    Hey Howdy Hey Carolyn.

Welcome back to planDisney. I love how you think! It is never to early to be planning your next trip home to Walt Disney World Resort! September is a great month to visit as the crowds will tend to lessen since kids have returned to school. Additionally, you can enjoy a number of special events that historically take place in the fall.

I cannot believe it has been 40 yEARs that Guests have been able to enjoy Walt's Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. The actual 40th anniversary occurred this year and EPCOT did celebrate with a special morning event. While I am not aware of any current plans for 2023, it is not unusual for there to be some type of special activity on October 1st (the day the theme park officially opened) each year. If your trip extends into October, I would definitely plan a visit to EPCOT on that date to join in on any of the special plans that may be taking place.

Another fall event is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This party occurs on select evenings from mid August through Halloween night. Party-goers can trick-or-treat their way around Magic Kingdom while enjoying time on attractions, special shows and entertainment, scrumptious treats and fun character interactions. It is a spooktacular time! Unfortunately, I am not sure when the party dates for next year will be announced, but I can tell you those announcements often occur in early to mid summer. I can also tell you that this is an extremely popular event so I feel pretty confident we will see it back in full swing next yEAR. If you are not already following the Disney Parks Blog, I would definitely recommend checking it out. They are sure to announce all the dates and party information once available.

I know you are looking to plan your theme park days, so I can give you a couple of suggestions. It does seem the Halloween Party often occurs on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday evenings. Of course that is subject to change, but if you were looking to schedule a Magic Kingdom day when the party is not happening, you could use that as a guide for now. The other suggestion is to go ahead and plan your visit however you like, and adjust if needed once the fall event dates are confirmed. I actually adjust our schedule and theme park reservations often, especially if I am looking to make advanced dining reservations at a specific restaurant and can only obtain a seating on a different day. It is easy to go in and change your theme park reservations on your My Disney Experience account as long as there is park availability. Bonus tip, be sure to keep your eye out for information on the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. This event is typically underway in September and one of our favorite things to do. You and your taste buds will be treated to all sorts of culinary delights form six continents.

I hope this information helps make your vacation practically perfect in every way! If I can assist with anything further, please stop back and see me.

Hope to see ya real soon,
    Margaret
