Hiya Nicole, Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your
Walt Disney World Resort dining reservation question! Your trip to the Most Magical Place On Earth is right around the corner! My husband will tell you that eating my way around Walt Disney World Resort is the one of the many things I look forward to on each vacation!
Nicole, I am happy to let you know that a
theme park ticket is not required for booking an
advance dining reservation. Dining can be booked
online within 60 days, with reservations for each 60th day opening at 6:00am Eastern Time.
Walt Disney World dining reservations and recreation experiences for open locations are currently available for booking by all Guests and can be made up to 60 days in advance. In addition,
Disney Resort Hotel guests can make reservations up to 60 days prior to their resort check-in date for the length of their stay (up to 10 days). Again, all dining reservations can be made online or through your
My Disney Experience account. Many recreation experiences can also be booked online.
Though you don't need a theme park ticket to book a dining reservation, you will eventually need to purchase a theme park if you wish to eat at the restaurant located inside a park. For example, say you book at one of my favorite restaurants,
Tusker House Restaurant. You can book up to 60 days in advance, with or without a theme park ticket. However, since this restaurant is located in
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park (Africa to be exact), you will need a theme park ticket for that park.
I hope this information helps you prepare for an exciting visit to the Walt Disney World Resort filled with lots of food Nicole! Thank you again for visiting planDisney!
Kay
