We do not have park tickets for the day we arrive. What is something fun that we could do that evening? We have small children (5,4,1) I heard that a resort does fireworks at night? Can you do even if you aren't staying at that resort? TIA!

    Hi Kristy,

No tickets the first day? Absolutely awesome! Unless my family is at the Walt Disney World Resorts for a quick trip, we rarely go to the park the first day. We like to head to bed early so we have energy for the rest of our trip.

On our first day, we usually tour our resort and hit the pool. We plan on a dinner either at the resort or Downtown Disney depending on where we are staying. Looking at your previous questions, you are thinking about Caribbean Beach as a potential resort. There are so many extra recreational activities at this resort you could easily fill the time.

Anyone can visit the resorts on property and many guests like to dine in the restaurants or visit during the holiday season. While the resorts do not have fireworks, you can see Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the hotels along the monorail. The beach of the Polynesian is a great place to view the fireworks as well as the Electrical Water Parade. You can get to the Polynesian by taking Disney transportation to Magic Kingdom and hopping on a boat to the Polynesian. To return home, take a bus to Downtown Disney and transfer to your hotel.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
