Hi Linda!
This is a great question. As a mother of four kids, I too am always looking for any deals or discounts on dining that will help me stretch my vacation dollar. Since my older kids are now considered adults when it comes to the Disney Dining Plan, but have small appetites, I have found that utilizing the various discounts available to me been a better value.
There are many restaurants that offer a discount to Disney Vacation Club Members, as long as you have your Disney Vacation Club Membership Card and a Photo ID with you. We received 10% off our lunch last week at Yak and Yeti in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. To view the full list of restaurants that currently offer a discount to Members, you would need to visit the
DVC Member Website. Along the top of the website, choose the Membership Magic tab, then under Perks, choose the Dining option.
As a Disney Vacation Club Member you are eligible to purchase a
Tables in Wonderland card. This is a paid membership that allows the cardholder to receive 20% off at most dining locations at Walt Disney World. We used Tables in Wonderland for the first time on our most recent trip and it has already paid for itself!
Disney Rewards Visa Cardholders are also eligible for dining discounts at select locations! You must ask for the discount and you must pay for your meal using your Disney Rewards Visa card. Visit the
Disney Rewards Visa Cardholder Perks Page for a complete list.
While I am not an AARP Member, my search does not seem to reveal any current dining discounts, but with your Disney Vacation Club Membership and your Disney Rewards Visa Card, you should be able to receive a discount at many delicious dining options.
Wishing you Membership Magic!
