I do not see any cruises out of NY in 2024. Has Disney discontinued this?

    Ahoy, Jennifer!

It’s great to “sea” a fellow mid-Atlantic Disney Cruise Line lover here at planDisney! Thanks for bringing a thoughtful question our way as you look ahead to planning vacations in 2024 and beyond. New York, New York is such a classic city to sail away from – and within an easy driving distance of your home state of Maryland, I can see why it appeals.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any official information on the plans for sailing out of New York beyond those listed on the Disney Cruise Line website through this fall. You’re not the only perceptive one on this topic; please see another recent answer where I discussed this with another Guest.

We do know that the amazing new Disney Treasure is set to launch in 2024, offering an additional range of departure ports, opportunities to explore new ports of call, and new schedules to balance with the other five ships already at sea. We can see in the posted future schedules that the beautiful Disney Dream (which sails out of New York in the fall of 2023) will be sailing out of Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) after it returns from a season in Europe. This will be a whole new world for Disney cruisers as these itineraries will also visit the brand-new private island destination, Lighthouse Point! This new magical destination in the Bahamas will host a range of exclusive experiences for Disney Cruise Line Guests in an unforgettable island atmosphere during these special sailings.

Please keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, which is the official source of breaking news for all-things Disney Cruise Line and Disney Parks. New itineraries and departure ports are announced there first, typically up to 18 months prior to sailing.

I’m sorry we don’t have any additional insights to share with you, Jennifer. I would love a closer departure port to our homes of Maryland and Virginia, so here’s hoping our wishes come true at some point in our future cruise planning.

Be sure to explore our planDisney pocket guides to Disney Cruise Line while you daydream of another cruise that may suit your plans. Please let us know how else we can help you make the most of a future vacation.
