Hello Matt,
Welcome to planDisney, where Disney enthusiasts like myself are here to answer your trip planning questions! I can tell you that I am very excited about the reopening of the
Disneyland Resort, and I am also anxious to visit. We planned to take our very experienced Walt Disney World kids on their first trip to the park where Walt walked last June, and obviously, that didn’t happen. While I am the proud owner of Disneyland Theme Park Tickets, I live in Indiana, and at this point, we still don’t know when we will be able to enter the theme parks.
Matt, while the State of California has given the okay for out-of-state residents to visit, the Disneyland Resort has not yet changed
their policy, nor have they made any announcement as to when that could happen. If you have a trip booked, I’m sure this is both stressful and frustrating for you. Unfortunately, after a year of uncertainty, I just don’t have a good answer for you. Disneyland may remain restricted to California residents for quite some time, or they could announce a change tomorrow. Only Mickey knows for sure. It will have to be your personal decision how long you want to wait to see if things change before you cancel or reschedule your visit. Out-of-state visitors may still shop and dine in the
Downtown Disney District. I would stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog, and I recommend following the Disneyland Resort on social media channels for any reopening announcements. I hope you're able to visit Disneyland soon, Matt.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
