Hi Patricia! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Currently, in addition to a valid
admission ticket, Guests also need a
theme park reservation to enter the parks. When you purchase an admission ticket on the Disneyland Resort website, you select your theme park reservation date at the time of purchase. If a park or a date has filled up and is no longer available, you won't be able to select it. At busy times of the year, such as now, those reservations can sell out, so it's best to purchase as far in advance as possible.
I'm sorry if you had your heart set on a visit to the parks on that particular day. You have a few options. One is to pick a different date that is still available. A handy way to check availability before attempting to purchase is the
Theme Park Reservation Calendar. You can filter at the top of the calendar by your preferred ticket type by clicking the different ticket types. If you want to visit one park per day, for example, you'd select the "1 Park Per Day Ticket" button. At this time, there are several ticket types to choose from, including special offers which might apply to you like the
SoCal Special Ticket Offer and the
Kids' Special Ticket Offer. Terms and prices of these ticket offers are subject to change, but for Guests who qualify, they offer great value. Once you've filtered your results, the calendar indicates whether one or both parks are available for that ticket type or entirely sold out on each day.
Your other option is to keep checking. People's plans do change, and if someone cancels their theme park reservations, you might be able to scoop them up even at the last minute. I'd check multiple times throughout the day to increase the likelihood of grabbing a newly available theme park reservation. There's no guarantee, but I've got my fingers crossed for you that your visit is right around the corner!
Have a magical day.
Elizabeth
