I am not able to stand for long periods of time. Thinking of using a wheelchair but I have seen backpacks that have a small stool attached. Are these allowed in the parks for those who can’t stand in lines? Also where do you park wheelchairs for rides?

Hello there, Kristi! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for reaching out and allowing us to help you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

I'm actually in a very similar position myself whenever I visit Walt Disney World Resort! Due to my own health conditions, I also have difficulty standing for long periods of time and walking long distances which can definitively be a problem when navigating the parks!

I've checked into this question myself and have found that folding chairs are on the prohibited items list according to the Walt Disney Resort Property Rules. This also includes folding stools such as the one you've referenced.

However, I would strongly recommend looking into wheelchair or ECV rental. In my own experience, utilizing my personal wheelchair while visiting the parks has completely changed my own experience! Walt Disney World Resort has done an amazing job making me feel accepted and included any time I use my wheelchair while visiting. I can't express how much this has meant to me and my own family!

You can rent an ECV or wheelchair directly from the theme parks or Disney Springs that can be used during your time in these locations. If you think you may need a mobility device outside of the parks and Disney Springs, I would suggest considering renting from a Disney Featured Provider. These companies provide mobility device rentals to the Orlando-area and can even deliver your ECV or wheelchair directly to your Disney Resort hotel!

I hope this information helps you have an absolutely magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
