We are a Norwegian family of 4 with two boys (5 and 12) and their grandmother planning to visit Disney World for the first time this summer june/july. Would love some helpful hints on issues like. How many days, where to stay, is there package deals etc.

Hello, Jo! Thank you for visiting us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It's so exciting that your family will be vacationing at Walt Disney World for the first time this summer! My advice is to plan to spend a minimum of 10 days so that you can have a relaxing vacation and enjoy touring all four Disney World theme parks. I would recommend allocating at least two full days each at Magic Kingdom and Epcot and a full day each at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. You may want to plan a day at the midpoint of your vacation to visit one of the two water parks or just to relax at your resort pool. You'll definitely want to start thinking about your table-service dining options now since Advanced Dining Reservations can be made as early as 180 days prior to your stay.

There are three basic Disney resort hotel categories: Value, Moderate and Deluxe. Since you are a multi-generational family group of 5 people, I would suggest looking at a Family Suite option at the Art of Animation or All-Star Music Resorts. A Family Suite would give your family more space, including a kitchenette and two bathrooms.

Right now there is a Walt Disney World Resort Special Offer for discounted resort hotel stays through June 14th. You may also want to check with a reputable travel agent in your country for any package deals and incentives targeted specifically to Scandinavian tourists.

Please don't hesitate to write back if you'd like more information about the resort hotels or restaurants or any other aspect of vacation planning - we're here to help!
