Hiya, Pallavi! Welcome to planDinsey.
Rope dropping is a tale as old as time. Getting to the theme parks and enjoying a few attractions while the lines are shorter starts your day with a little bit of extra magic. One of the many benefits of staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel is
access to the theme parks a half hour before they are open, giving you a head start on that
Rope Dropping feeling!
The way resort Guests access the park may change slightly, so I am sharing my experience to give you an idea of how it might work. At
Magic Kingdom Park, the ticket gates were open for all Guests to enter Main Street, U.S.A., before the park officially opened. At the walkways leading to Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, Cast Members were scanning
MagicBands and Keys to the World cards to verify early theme park entry. Only resort Guests were able to pass through and access these lands and attractions.
When I was at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, only Guests with access to early entry were allowed past the ticket gates. My friend
Elaine was there a week later and said they had let everyone into Hollywood Boulevard. Guests with early entry were scanning in at the
Toy Story Land entrance to access the rides before the park opened for everyone.
One tip from experience: When I want to enjoy the entire half hour before the park opens for everyone, I head for
Disney Resort Transportation an hour before the park opens. With security checks, the ticket gates and the stops to verify you are staying at an eligible Disney hotel, it can take some time.
I hope this information helps, Pallavi. If you have any other questions, please come back to
