Hi David,
Welcome to planDisney! It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Floridian with plans for a Walt Disney World vacation.
I'll do my best to answer your question about using
tickets or annual passes that are specially priced for Florida residents. If I understand correctly, you have out-of-state relatives or friends who want to take your Florida-resident children to Walt Disney World without you if your children have Florida-resident tickets or passes.
The answer is yes, that's possible, as long as the children's residency has been verified and their tickets validated. And they will need a parent or adult member of their household to do the verification.
Let me try to walk you through the process.
Before tickets or passes offered only to Florida residents can be used for the first time, Walt Disney World must
verify the residency of each ticket- or passholder over 18. The easiest way to verify residency is with a drivers license, state-issued ID or Florida-based military ID.
If guests are younger than 18, their tickets must be purchased and validated by an adult Florida resident, such as a parent. Verification often can be done online but may need to be done in person.
Tickets or passes only need to be verified once. So as long as your children's residency has been verified and their ticket or pass has been validated, they can use the tickets to visit the parks with grandparents, relatives or adult friends who don't live in the state. The children will tap into the park with a MagicBand, Key to the World card or MagicMobile pass just as they do when they are with their parents.
I hope that makes sense, David. Please let us know if you need more clarification or if you have other questions about
Florida-resident special offers on resorts, tickets or annual passes.
Happy planning,
Wilma
