For nights when us parents want to go out without the kids, how far in advance do we need to book a sitter for the kids? Can we do it on the fly?

    Ahoy, Cayle!
I have some great news for you! There is no need for a babysitter aboard Disney Cruise Line because the elaborately designed youth spaces will be open from morning until night with no reservations needed! There is almost an entire deck for them to enjoy while you experience all the adult-only offerings on board! I'm not sure the ages of your sailors, but here is a quick overview of the youth programming offered for ages 3-17. The Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are for ages 3-12 with the club being geared towards 3-7 and the lab for 8-12. With that being said, a child in the 3-12 age range can participate in planned programming in either space or enjoy free time. When secured programming is offered, parents have the opportunity to check-in their children for hours of fun! Edge is designed for the tweens aboard from ages 11-14. This age group is allowed to come and go freely during operating hours, and planned activities are offered throughout the day. I don't think you have to worry about the teen program quite yet, but it is called Vibe and for ages 14-17. If you have a little one younger than three, there is a nursery on board that is available for a nominal hourly fee. Hours can be reserved ahead of time online in "My Cruise Activities" after logging in to your cruise reservation. This facility is also open from morning until late at night. Operating hours will be listed in your daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator or on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App (free for download for Apple or Android devices) every day. Typically you can plan on 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. for the club and lab, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. for Edge and 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. for "it's a small world" nursery!
Thank you for stopping by, Cayle!
    Have a magical day!
