On nights when the park has Extended Evening Hours do you need to be in the park prior to normal closing? Or can you come after closing time as long as you have a reservation for that park? What about park hopping?

Hey, there! Hi, there! I am so happy to see you back at planDisney, Scott, where you are as welcome as can be.

Extended Evening Theme Park Hours is one of many amazing benefits of staying at Disney deluxe resort or villa. The theme parks have a different feel at night. As the sun goes down and the lights come up, it's like Tinker Bell shakes her glimmering Pixie Dust over the parks.

The extended hours give Guests staying at a deluxe resort two extra hours in the theme parks after everyone else has left. You can check the Hours & Events Calendar to see the parks and times this is offered during your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Let's go through your questions to make sure you get the information you need about these awesome evenings.

You do not have to be in the theme park before the extended hours start. Cast Members will be at the gates until the evening ends. I scanned in with 15 minutes left to hop on Space Mountain when staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort, well, because I could.

To be eligible to enjoy this benefit, you have to stay at a qualified resort and have valid theme park admission, like a date-based ticket or Annual Pass. If you have a date-based ticket you have used for entry into another theme park that day, you will need to have the Park Hopper option to jump over to the park with extended hours. You should not need a reservation as these are not required for a date-based ticket or after 2 p.m. for people using an Annual Pass.

In short, you do not need to be in the theme park before the regular hours closing. You can come anytime during the extended hours as long as you have valid admission and are staying at a qualified resort. And you do need to have Park Hopper if you used a date-based ticket at a different theme park that day.

Scott, I hope this information helps. If you have any other questions, you know you have a friend in planDisney.
