Hi Kellie,
Welcome to planDisney! I see that your trip is quickly approaching and that you may need to change some of your plans for the week.
Disney World has policies in place that can help you navigate this change and still enjoy your vacation. The policy that applies to your reservation will depend on whether you booked a package that included tickets or had a Room-Only reservation.
If you booked a 2024 Disney World Package, you will be able to cancel 30 days or more before your arrival for a full refund minus cancellation fees if a third party was used to book your vacation. If you cancel 2 days to 29 days before your arrival you can receive a refund minus a cancellation fee of $200 per package plus any third-party cancellation fees. If you cancel 1 day or less before arrival, your package is nonrefundable. Refunds will not be given for early departure from your hotel or for unused tickets or meals.
I spoke with a cast member to confirm the policy for Room-Only reservations. If you booked a Room-Only reservation, the Resort cancellation can be made up to 5 days in advance for a full refund. For 0-4 days before vacation, you will lose the cost of a one-night stay which was also the price of the deposit you paid. You can
modify your trip according to the same deadlines, but once you arrive, you will not be reimbursed if you need to leave early. Keep in mind that these policies are always subject to change. You should be able to see what the cancellation policy was for your specific booking by checking your original confirmation email.
If you decide to modify your reservation, the easiest way to do that is through
My Disney Experience. You should be able to pull up your reservation if it has already been linked to your account. If it can be modified, there will be a button next to it that says "Modify Reservation." If this button is missing, you will need to call
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations for assistance with any changes.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
