Hi there, we are going on the 11-night Mediterranean cruise starting June 24. Is there enough to do directly from the port that we could walk (with a stroller) and have enough to entertain us? We'd like to avoid bringing both the car seat and stroller.

    Anchors aweigh, Ashley!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. You are so close to sailing away on an amazing Disney Cruise Line adventure! The 11-Night Mediterranean with Greek Isles cruise itinerary is the number one cruise on my bucket list! It sounds like the perfect way to visit Greece and so many other gorgeous Mediterranean destinations. Plus, it begins and ends in two of my favorite cities. I'm so excited for you!

Since your cruise involves several ports, I'll offer some thoughts that can be applied to most of your destinations. The good news is that most ports have busses or water taxis specifically for the cruise ports that will get you into town or to a bus/train connection that will then take you to other areas of town. For instance, the Piraeus Port Authority (in Athens) offers free transport within the port, including to the nearby bus/train station. Some ports, like Valletta, Malta, are a quick 10-minute or so walk into town. Remember there are often uneven surfaces, such as cobblestones, and multiple steps you may need to navigate in these lovely Mediterranean destinations so your stroller rider might experience some rough riding.

So, to answer your question, I think you will find plenty to do with easy access to the ports, it just might take a little planning. I suggest doing an internet search for each of your ports of call to discover what interests your family. I've found some great tips for spending time in cruise ports without booking Port Adventures. When exploring ports on your own, be mindful of the all-aboard times, especially in Santorini, Greece, where tenders from the ship to the port are required. The all-aboard times for each port will be listed in your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and announced on the ship.

You are going to have an enchanting time on Disney Dream! One of my favorite Disney Cruise Line stage shows is Disney's Believe. It is a whimsical and heart-warming story featuring some of the best Disney movie moments. Your family is sure to love it!

I hope this information gets you on your way to enjoying your ports of call, Ashley. Let us know if you have other questions.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
