Welcome aboard, Alana! It's exciting to begin looking at options for setting sail with Disney Cruise Line in the Mediterranean, isn't it? I had the trip of a lifetime with Disney last summer in the Mediterranean! Disney really knows how to make history come alive for everyone as they include learning about the upcoming port and diving into the culture of that country onboard before guests even step off the ship in port! It truly is a trip to remember!
The 2015 Mediterranean itineraries include five-night and seven-night offerings from Barcelona. In the past, 12-night offerings have been available, but since the Disney Magic is the only one of Disney's ships that will be sailing in Europe during the summer, and it will be making new trips up to Northern Europe next year, there won't be as many Mediterranean offerings.
The Mediterranean offerings for 2015 include four sailings leaving from Barcelona, and includes port stops in Nice (Villefrance), France; Florence (La Spezia) and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. The departure dates for these 2015 sailings are August 10 (five nights) and Aug 15, 22 and 29 (seven nights).
The Northern European cruises do offer longer sailings, including a 12-night if you are interested in those! I would love to experience the cultures and scenery of those amazing cities! Check out the
Find A Cruise page where you can play around with dates and itineraries for the most updated list of what is available.
However if it really is a Mediterranean sailing you're after, and you're hoping to see more of Greece and the ports farther east, I hope to hear that Disney Cruise Line might be offering more of those options in 2016. We just won't know for sure until the 2016 summer itineraries are released. I'd expect to hear more about that this coming spring.
I hope those details help, Alana! Happy planning!
