Welcome aboard, Robin! What lucky grandchildren you have that they get to head out to sea with their grandparents and sail with Captain Mickey and his crew! Disney Cruise Line is such an amazing way to vacation, you're sure to make some really special memories on this trip!
Disney Cruise Line's staterooms sleep up to five, unless you book one of the concierge suites. So, the best way I'd suggest for your family to enjoy their cruise would be to book two
adjoining staterooms. No matter if you're looking for
Inside staterooms, Oceanview staterooms, or Verandah staterooms, there are options that include adjoining staterooms so that you can have twice the space with a door in between. We've enjoyed two verandah staterooms when we sailed with extended family and it worked out really well. In fact, most of the verandah connecting staterooms also have the ability to fold back the verandah partitions so that you can enjoy one longer verandah and walk back and forth between your two rooms not only inside, but on the outside as well. My kids thought it was so fun to be able to go from our stateroom to their grandparents' stateroom on on the balcony as well as through our connecting door inside. Plus, once the kids were asleep, we enjoyed our larger outside area! As an extra bonus to having adjoining rooms, I think that you'll enjoy having twice as many bathrooms too, which is always nice when everyone is getting ready at the same time! And since most of Disney Cruise Line's staterooms include a split bath, you'll have plenty of space between the split baths in both staterooms.
I hope those details help as you begin to plan for this exciting vacation, Robin. Please stop back if you have any other questions before you set sail! I'm happy to help!
