I have my niece and sister magic bands on my account. They are going over spring break and I won’t be there. Can they activate their bands in the app for them? It’s the same person same name same finger print

Hi Megan, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! Your sister and niece have a pixie-dusted Spring Break vacation coming up very soon, so let’s make sure they’re all set to use their MagicBands!

It sounds like you manage your sister's and niece’s profiles from your My Disney account and that their MagicBands are already linked to those profiles. If that’s the case, and their theme park tickets are linked to the same profiles, they should be able to scan into the parks on their own. However, I’d recommend your sister take control of her profile and create her own My Disney account. That way she can use the My Disney Experience app to purchase Lightning Lane Passes, view PhotoPass pictures, and place mobile food orders during her trip.

To do this, go into your Family & Friends List on the Disney World website and you should see your sister and niece under Guests You Manage at the top of the page. Find your sister’s profile and click Manage. Here you’ll see the option to invite her to sign in and plan on her own. When you press the Invite button, you’ll input her email address to send the invitation. Guests have to be 13 years or older to create a My Disney account, so you won’t see this option on your niece’s profile if she’s underage. Once that’s done, your sister will have full control of her profile and her MagicBand will still be linked.

There’s one last thing that’s important to activate so your sister can make plans for your niece. Your sister should now appear under Connections on your Family & Friends List. Find her name and click the Edit Settings button, then the Connect My Managed Guests button. Check the box next to your niece’s name and then Send Invite. Your sister will get an email inviting her to connect with your niece’s profile. Once that’s confirmed, she’ll be able to make plans on your niece's behalf, like link her to tickets, reservations, and activities.

You can also call the My Disney Experience phone number and a Cast Member would be happy to help get everything sorted out!

While your sister and niece are at Disney World, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival will be happening. I’m not sure how old your niece is, but my nephew loves Spike’s Pollen-Nation Exploration scavenger hunt (with fun prizes!), getting an up-close look at the creatures in Butterfly Landing, getting the wiggles out at the Camp Get Out 'N' Play Garden, and finding all the Disney character topiaries around the park.

I hope this helped get your family all set for their upcoming vacation! If you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
