Hi there, Ruth! Thank you for sending in your question to planDisney. I can't think of anything sweeter than celebrating one's 16th birthday at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Mickey thinks you are one extra special aunt!
Unfortunately, Walt Disney World Resort does not sell number balloons inside their parks and resorts. However, I checked with Guest Services today and confirmed that you
can bring balloons with a few exceptions. According to the
Property Rules, they are not permitted at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, or the water parks. Magic Kingdom Park would be the perfect location for a birthday photo shoot. Find a
PhotoPass photographer, or better yet, book a
Capture Your Moment photo session; these are private 20-minute sessions, and the Cast Members will provide props in addition to your balloons. I did this for my 50th birthday last month, and I love how the photos turned out (just a reminder that guests are not allowed to bring in their own professional photographer).
Be sure to pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button at your Walt Disney World Resort Front Desk or any merchandise location. Wearing one often gets the attention of other Guests and Cast Members alike. Also, the quintessential birthday experience in Magic Kingdom Park would be to eat inside the Castle at
Cinderella's Royal Table. You can also consider adding a
Celebration Cake to your meal at many table service locations. These cakes are shaped like Mickey Mouse and can be personalized with "Happy Birthday" with a few different flavor options, and they can be ordered right through your
My Disney Experience app!
I hope your niece has the most magical birthday ever, Ruth! See ya real soon!
