We are going next year for the 2010 1/2 marathon and then to the parks the week after! How were the crowds this week in 2009 after the marathon weekend? Do a lot of people stay around? What are the wait times like? We will have a 15 month old with us!

Hi Heidi.  I was not actually there for the marathon weekend and the week after, but my brother and sister-in-law were there with their two young boys.  This is actually their second year to visit WDW on the marathon weekend.  So, I consulted them to get you an accurate answer.  In a nutshell, in the past two years they have not encountered large crowds at all.  As a matter of fact, each year they are amazed that there aren't more people in the parks.  Perhaps they run and leave, or maybe they are just too tired to hit a theme park.  Whatever the case is, this has become one of their favorite times of the year to go to WDW.  Beautiful weather and low crowds!  Good luck with the training and the race in 2010.
