Hi Moms, Next vacation is 7/4/16 2 adult for 3 wks. Which dining plan is best when we are not big eater, but will do deluxe meals and recreations. We are between Deluxe and Platinum

Hi, Teresa!  Walt Disney World for three weeks is like a dream vacation to me!

The biggest difference between the deluxe dining plan and the platinum plan are the extras on the platinum plan.  Both plans give you three meals (of your choosing - counter service or table service), plus two snacks each day.  The deluxe dining plan does require two credits for a signature dining experience, where the platinum package is one credit regardless of where you choose to go.

With the platinum package, however, you have all of the recreational activities included.  You could go fishing, participate in water sports, rent a bike, play tennis, and many other activities.  All of those are included with the platinum plan, and if you are staying for three weeks, that might be a great addition to your vacation.  You can use these features as often as you'd like during your stay.

The kicker to your question is "we are not big eaters".  Either of these dining plans is a lot of food.  Your meals are going to include an entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage, and of course, the buffet includes the full buffet.  It's a full course meal every time you sit down.  I find the portions at most of the Walt Disney World restaurants are very generous, and there is no way I could eat a full three meals (plus two snacks!) each day.  On the plus side, you can take snacks to go in most cases, so you can enjoy them on the trip home.  Just plan to be full a good portion of your vacation.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
