Next month will be our first Disney trip! Our daughters are ages 5 and 7. We are planning on non-park shopping to help focus our time and activities while in the parks. How do we decide between Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk for bonus fun and shopping?

Hi Emily! How exciting that your first Disney trip is just a few weeks away! You're going to have so much fun! While the Boardwalk area has some shops and a few sidewalk entertainers, in my opinion Downtown Disney is the place to go for shopping and entertainment.  Downtown Disney is filled with lots of stores, restaurants and entertainment, such as a movie theater, a bowling alley, Cirque du Soleil and DisneyQuest. The Boardwalk is a fun evening diversion if you have an extra hour to spare, but you could spend all day at Downtown Disney and still not do everything that's offered there. The World of Disney Store is not to be missed -- it's huge and filled with every Disney merchandise item you can imagine!

Wishing you a magical first Disney vacation! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We'd love to help!
