    Newborn babies need to know

    Hi Lupe!

Thanks for bringing this question to planDisney! My littlest guy’s first trip to Disney World was when he was just 8 weeks old, so I’m happy to help you out!

The Baby Care Centers at the park were absolute game changers for us! You’ll find one in each theme park, and they provide a quiet, air-conditioned space for changings and feedings. They also have a kitchenette area and sell essential supplies if you happen to need anything.

To find the location of each Baby Care Center, open up your My Disney Experience app, click the search icon at the bottom, then type in “Baby Care Centers.” After you click on the search result, click Find on Map. From there, you’ll be able to zoom in on the map to see where each one is located.

Now, some other things to consider. First things first, kids under 3 years old will not need park admission or Lightning Lanes. Your newborn will also be free at all restaurants, but you’ll want to add them to any dining reservations you make so that the restaurant can comfortably accommodate your family.

Around the park, you’ll find plenty of things to do with your little one. While you’re planning your park days, you can find a list of attractions with no height requirements here. If your family wants to experience an attraction that your baby can’t go on, take advantage of the Rider Switch service offered. Just talk with the Cast Member at the entrance to the ride’s queue to get it all set up.

It’s also good to note that strollers are not allowed in restaurants, attraction queues, and shows. While having a stroller will be super helpful most of the day, I found that using a baby carrier worked well for us in those situations. If you bring along your own stroller, make sure it fits within the approved dimensions. And don’t forget to pack a stroller fan to keep your little one cool throughout the day.

For something a little extra special to commemorate the trip, grab a free “First Visit” button at Guest Relations or the front desk of your Disney World resort. It made for some pretty cute photos! I always love purchasing Memory Maker to ensure we get some great family photos to look back on.

Finally, I recommend planning some downtime throughout the day. We opted to take a midday break back at our resort room so that our little guy could get a good nap each day. But we also made sure to take our time while at the parks, as well, so we never felt overwhelmed or rushed.

Overall, I made some amazing memories on that trip, and I know your family will, too! If you have any other questions as you continue to plan, feel free to come back and visit us!
