New years at WDW: all day at MK, having dinner at Jiko's at 8pm (animal king resort) then head back to the MK at 10pm for the fireworks. I'm afraid that the park reaches full capacity and we wont be able to get back in. Should I change plans?

    Dear Paloma,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question about planning for New Year's Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort!

You are correct that New Year's Eve is one of the most popular days to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in general, and the Magic Kingdom specifically. It has happened in the past that the park has filled to capacity on that day. Of course I cannot guarantee either way if it will fill or not, but if you truly want to assure yourself that you will not be shut out, I would definitely stay inside of the Magic Kingdom and change your Advanced Dining Reservation to a restaurant within the Magic Kingdom. At this time, I do not see any availability, but guests frequently change their reservations so it is possible that something will open up.

Jiko - The Cooking Place is SUCH a fantastic restaurant, though, so you might consider seeing if there's another reservation available for it on a different date. Alternatively, you could consider keeping your Advanced Dining Reservation and skipping the fireworks. Either way, you are bound to have a very special New Year's Eve celebration!

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
