On New Year's Eve is there anywhere that we could have a meal so we have a great view of the midnight fireworks or will the restaurants be closed at that time of night? Our 180 days is coming up soon and would like to try book a table if possible.

Hi, Steven! Thanks for bringing us another great question! Walt Disney World Resort has not yet announced all of the festivities that will be taking place on New Year's Eve this year, but it is sure to be a magical celebration! In previous years, there have been several special meals planned at the Magic Kingdom area resorts, where you could have a spectacular meal (or even more!) and see the park's fireworks late that evening. Last year, the Disney Parks Blog announced offerings at Disney's Contemporary Resort and their July 10 booking date towards the beginning of that same month. There was everything from a Pixar-themed party for families to an exclusive club atmosphere for adults. The celebrations featured entertainment, music, food, and practically perfect viewing of Magic Kingdom Park's New Years Eve fireworks spectacular. One of the party options even included character interactions for guests. If you would like to celebrate and have a good time at any of these type of events, be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog

In addition to these events, several of the dining locations at the Disney Resort Hotels near Magic Kingdom Park usually have grand celebrations planned. California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort has hosted a ticketed event through the evening in previous years, which can usually be reserved online or by calling Disney Dining. This meal does require prepayment when it is reserved and note that it may not open right at the 180-day mark, so keep watch for it. Narcoossee's at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is another dining location to make note of for your special evening. Last year, there were two seatings offered, an early and late one. To see the fireworks during your meal, you would definitely want to go for the later one. My fellow panelist, Kathy, usually spends New Year's Eve at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground with her family. Clementine's Beach at the resort usually has a special countdown for guests as they watch the fireworks.

As I mentioned, full details of this year-end celebration have not yet been announced, so be sure to check back in the next month, especially with the Disney Parks Blog, to see what festivities Mickey Mouse has planned to kick off 2020! Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions.
