Are the new shops and restaurants open at downtown Disney? Specifically the Boathouse? Thank you

    Hi Barbara!

My family loves Downtown Disney and we usually set aside at least one evening to visit during each trip to enjoy dinner at one of the delicious restaurants and do some souvenir shopping.  I've really enjoyed watching the transformation of the area and can't wait to experience the new Disney Springs when it's complete early next year.  When it's all done, there will be 4 neighborhoods centered around the springs - Marketplace, West Side, The Landing and Town Center - and more than 150 places for dining, shopping and entertainment.  Wow!

The 4 neighborhood and the new shops have been opening in phases.  A few are already open, including the Marketplace Co-Op and Super Hero Headquarters.  I'm happy to say that The BOATHOUSE is on that list, too.  It just recently opened its doors for lunch and dinner and it's getting rave reviews!  I've heard nothing but fabulous things about the menu, which focuses on steaks and seafood, and the atmosphere looks amazing.  Reservations are being accepted online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE (939-3463).  You might also make pans to arrive a little early so that you can take a ride around in one of the Amphicars from the 1960s.  So cool!

Wishing you a magical visit, Barbara!  Please visit us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if we can help answer any other questions.
