Hi Sandra! The answer to your question may be one of life's great unsolved mysteries. Disney announced in early 2010 that the Picnic in the Park, in which guests could pre-order hot chicken or ham entrees and side dishes to eat as a picnic in the Animal Kingdom, would be offered only "seasonally." The pre-ordered picnic appeared briefly during the week of Easter 2010, and that was the only "season" we've seen.
Although the pre-ordered picnic of hot entrees doesn't seem to be offered frequently, the Picnic in the Park still exists year-round in the form of a
"Grab and Go" at the Beastly Bazaar shop. At the Beastly Bazaar, guests may
purchase a picnic for a group of 2, 4, or 6 people, consisting of a
non-alcoholic beverage, a choice of sandwich, chips, and dessert. The sandwich
choices include Turkey Focaccia; Ham and Salami on Ciabatta; Tuna on Pita;
Vegetarian Wrap; and Chicken Caesar Wrap. You can use your Quick-Service Dining
credits to purchase the picnic meals.
