Hi Kasey,
Sometimes technology can drive us a little crazy but luckily there is normally a fix. Hopefully, I can help you solve your issue and get you back to focusing on the magic of your upcoming Disney World vacation.
There is a
great resource for setting up and troubleshooting the connection between your phone and MagicBand+. I have found that when troubleshooting issues with any Disney app or device, the most common problem is ensuring that everything is up to date. I recommend updating your My Disney Experience app and phone to the newest operating system and turning both devices off before moving on to any other potential solutions. Disney is a master at utilizing the most advanced features available to make a seamless experience, so they almost always require an up-to-date operating system! You will also need to make sure your MagicBand+ software is up to date. You can check this from the MagicBands & More page in the
My Disney Experience app.
Once you ensure that everything is up to date and things are still not working properly, you may need to reset the device. You can perform a factory reset of your MagicBand+ using the on button. To do this, you will need to single press the button and then quickly perform a second press that you hold for 15 seconds. After 3 vibrating pulses, your MagicBand+ will glow with rainbow colors. This indicates that your band is restarting. The lights will turn off and then flash green once the factory reset is complete. Hopefully, this fixes the connection issue!
If none of this works, I recommend giving the
My Disney Experience, MagicBand, and MagicBand+ phone line a call to see if they can walk you through some other options to fix your device.
Happy Planning,
Jenna
