Michael from TN Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

For the new park hopper/reservation option, does Wide World of Sports caount for your initial park reservation?

Hello there, Michael! Welcome to planDisney! We are so excited to have you drop by and I cannot wait to answer your Walt Disney World Resort vacation question for you!

Walt Disney World Resort has re-opened to the public and is once again inviting Guests back into the magic that they are known for! In an effort to prioritize the safety of all Guests, there have been some updated policies and modified experiences. During your upcoming visit, you can look forward to enhanced cleaning procedures, temporary adjustments that encourage physical distancing and modified experienced to reduce contact. Additionally, Guests are also now required to have a theme park reservation prior to their visit. These reservations may be made through the Disney Park Pass system as soon as you have connected your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account.

At this time, theme park reservations are only required for the four theme parks. This means that you will not need a reservation to visit the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex! If you haven’t had the pleasure of visiting this complex, you are certainly in for a treat! This area is comprised of over 230 acres and includes pristine facilities that have hosted a variety of sports teams throughout the years. Many Guests also know the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex as the official “starting line” for many different runDisney events as this is where the race expos are held!

Due to the overwhelming amount of adventure to be had at the theme parks, Guests may sometimes overlook all of the other offerings across Walt Disney World Resort! The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex is a perfect example of this. If you plan on spending some time outside of the theme parks, you may want to look into some of the other options available such as the water parks or Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf! Both destinations offer very different but equally engaging attractions that may be right up your alley!

Best of luck as you continue to plan for your summer vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to let us know if we can answer any additional questions for you as well!
