With the new MultiPass system, if 3/4 of my party is staying at a Disney resort and can book a week in advance, will we be able to include the 4th person in our Lightning Lane selections even if they’re not staying at a Disney resort?

Welcome back to planDisney, Candace! I'm excited to see you're planning another magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! With the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass service, guests can plan ahead to reduce wait times on some of the most popular attractions and experiences at each of the four Disney Theme Parks, saving time in line and time on busy vacation mornings!

Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections are linked to a guest's eligibility, which is based on whether or not the guest has a valid Disney Resort hotel reservation linked to his or her My Disney Experience account, so if a member of your party is not eligible on the same day as the other guests because they are not staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will not be able to select them in the My Disney Experience mobile app as a part of your plans at the same time. While I know this is not ideal, I can offer a little bit of guidance on ways you may be able to add that guest to your existing plans once he or she does become eligible.

When reviewing your plans in the My Disney Experience mobile app, you will have the option to modify Lightning Lane selections, including the option to modify your party and book the same experience for another guest once they are eligible, if the experience is still available. Another option would be for the guest to book his or her own Lightning Lane passes and try to select times that overlap with your existing plans. I used this service for the first time last week, and because our two groups were eligible at different times, we booked our passes separately. Even though we originally booked in two groups, our plans merged once the app recognized that we were all linked as Family & Friends and had overlapping return times! I thought this was pretty neat as it pushed our plans together and allowed us to easily modify existing selections and make new ones as a combined group! Candace, one final option would be to wait until all members of your party are eligible to make any selections to ensure that everyone's plans are the same.

I hope this helps, Candace, and that your group has success booking Lightning Lane passes together so you can experience all of your favorite attractions at the same time! If you have any other planning questions before your arrival, you're always as welcome as can be here at planDisney

    See you real soon,
