I am new to this and we are going mid March. We have a boy 8 a girl 8 and a 3 yr old. We have a hotel booked at Marriot with an eat in kitchen. I imagine we will eat at WDW too. Help me figure out what passes to buy and what would be most memorable.

Hi, Kathryn!  You're just weeks away from your upcoming vacation - that's got to be pretty exciting.

So, there are a few things I'd need to know to fully help you make some decisions.  How many days will you be staying in the Orlando area?  How many of those days will you be headed to a Walt Disney World theme park?  Do you want to do the water parks, visit DisneyQuest, or do some miniature golfing?  Do you think you'll be doing any park hopping?

There are four theme parks at Walt Disney World, and if you have time, I'd recommend a day in each one, especially if you are new to this.  It will give you a taste of every park, so if you do have the opportunity to come back, you'll know which things your family really loved and would want to do again.  A multiday ticket is the most economical way to go, because the more days you add, the cheaper each day becomes.

When we have stayed off property, I have preferred not to do any park hopping.  It can take a bit of time to actually get into the parks, and traveling between parks takes up valuable time we could be using on the attractions.  However, if you want to combine two parks in one day, you'll want to think about a hopper option.

Whether or not you do water parks is up to your family's vacation preferences.  It can be great fun, but we are usually so busy in the parks, we never have time!

I'd be happy to help you further if you have more questions! Happy planning!
