At the new island, I was told that you have to tender in and there is a mile walk before you reach the entry. will you have assistance for disabled and if so, what type of assistance will you provide?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney! I recently visited Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the new Disney Cruise Line island destination, and I can't wait to tell you more!

As the ship approaches Lookout Cay on the Bahamian Island of Eleuthera, you will see the colorful Family Cabanas dotting the shoreline. You will also catch your first glimpse of the impressive open-trestle pier. Your ship will dock so you can disembark directly to the pier and no tender is required. The length and location of the pier are an impressive bit of engineering designed to protect the coral and marine life in the area. My cruise companions and I confirmed that the pier is approximately half a mile long. Including stops to take lots of pictures, it took us less than 12 minutes to walk from the ship to the Mabrika Cove, where you can catch the tram to the Goombay Cove. And here is a quick tip: as the pier meets the island, there is a perfect photo op with the ship framed by the gorgeous turquoise water, so don't miss it!

Jennifer, Disney Cruise Line offers a variety of services for Guests with disabilities to help create the best experience possible. Guests visiting Lookout Cay with a mobility disability should visit Guest Services once on board to inquire about available options. Also, be sure to download the Information for Guests with Disabilities or Medical Conditions, which provides a helpful overview of available services and accessibility features on the ships.

While visiting Lookout Cay, you will be in awe of the pink-hued sand and crystal-clear water and might forget that there are plenty of entertainment and cultural experiences to enjoy. Be sure to check your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for times and locations of events like RUSH! A Junkanoo Celebration and Disney Fun in the Sun Beach Bash. I'm still smiling from doing the limbo with Goofy at the beach bash and watching Donald Duck join the traditional Bahamian Junkanoo dance.

I hope this information provides clarity for you, Jennifer. Thanks for sailing by and let us know if you have other questions about enjoying Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point or your Disney Cruise Line vacation!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
