I am a new homeschool mom and want to incorporate our Disney trip as a "field trip/mini vacation." My question is if you have a suggestion on how to incorporate this visit into an educational experience as well as a much needed vacation?

Disney World is a fantastic place for an incredible vacation, where learning happens in the most magical way! Here are some ideas:

Disney's Hollywood Studios is a great spot to learn the history of the great man, Walt Disney, himself. Walt Disney: One Man's Dream shows how it all began through photos, audio, memorabilia and models of some of many attractions. The Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show shows how some of the best stunts are done. The Magic of Disney Animation is one of our must-dos, with demonstrations by real artists. In addition to all this, your children can even learn how to become a Jedi! Ok, maybe that one's not truly educational, but it is lots of fun!

You learn so much at Epcot without even trying! Eleven countries are featured in World Showcase, where you will learn all about the culture and cuisine of these nations. In Future World, The Land pavillion will teach about the environment and food growth. In the Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavillion, you'll learn all about undersea creatures. Spaceship Earth transports you from the dawn of time to the future. Innoventions is an interactive pavillion where you can learn things from fire safety to how velcro works and so much in between.

In the Animal Kingdom, you'll enjoy more hands on learning about animals and the environment as you ride the safari, visit Rafiki's Planet Watch and get up close and personal with the animals.  Cast members throughout the park are there to answer questions as well as share interesting information.

These are just a few suggestions. Enjoy your well deserved vacation, and I'm sure you'll all learn along the way!
