Is the new Disney Skyliner wheelchair or stroller as wheelchair accessible? We are planning a trip for our twins, one with mobility needs. We are considering staying at a skyliner resort but wasn't sure we could use with an open wheelchair/stroller.

Hello, Ashlie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I, too, am excited to try out the new Disney Skyliner system during our Walt Disney World Resort vacation in a couple of weeks. From what we’ve been told, the Skyliner Gondolas are indeed wheelchair and ECV accessible. We know that single strollers have also been permitted on the Gondolas, but one of my fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelists said that she was informed by a Skyliner Cast Member last week that double strollers would need to be folded. We’ve also been told that there is a separate area for Guests who have mobility issues and need extra time boarding.

The Disney Skyliner looks like it will be an exciting, efficient way to travel between the Walt Disney World Resort hotels on the Skyliner path as well as to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There will continue to be alternate forms of complimentary Resort Transportation, though, should you run into any issues with using the service.

I hope you and your family enjoy your visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Ashlie! Please let us know if we can answer any additional questions for you as you plan your vacation.

Meet the Panelist: Amy, South Carolina

Hiya, pals! I'm Amy from South Carolina. I'm married to my Disney-loving best friend, and together we've raised two princes and a princess. Whether I'm teaching my high school journalism students, planning Disney Bounding outfits with my daughter, or researching which new adventures we'll encounter on our next Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I find a way to incorporate a little Disney magic into everything I do. I look forward to helping you discover the magic, too!  Learn More About Amy
