Hi Amanda!
Welcome back to planDisney!
You’re correct! When using your Annual Pass, you will need a
park reservation for the first park of the day you’d like to visit. Then you’ll be welcome to hop over to Magic Kingdom after scanning into your first park (pending park capacity).
The big change you’ll need to be aware of is that, although you can currently start your day at
Magic Kingdom without a park reservation after 2:00 PM on weekdays, that will no longer be the case beginning on July 20, 2025.
So, let’s say you were planning on spending the day at the pool, then heading over to Magic Kingdom to grab dinner and see the new
Disney Starlight parade in the evening. In that case, you will need a park reservation for Magic Kingdom that day.
Otherwise, park hopping works just the same as it always has!
If you’ll be heading to Disney World this summer, don’t miss out on some limited-time Annual Passholder perks for
V.I.Passholder Summer Days! I noticed some great dining discounts at select restaurants this summer that I wish I could take advantage of. I might need to book a last-minute trip!
If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know. We’re always happy to help!
