I am a new annual pass holder (platinum). We are headed to WDW in December and I am trying to figure out if I need to purchase Memory Maker. It seems pass holders now get free downloads of all photos. Is this correct? Does this include ride photos?

    Hi Alissa,

How exciting that your trip is just a month away AND you're a new Walt Disney World Annual Passholder.  You have a double dose of magic ahead of you!

I have some good news to share.  With the Disney Platinum Pass, the Disney PhotoPass benefits you receive work almost exactly like Memory Maker, so there is no need for you to purchase that separately.  You'll already be covered.

From the date you activate your Annual Pass until the day it expires, you will have access to all the photos and other digital content linked on your Disney PhotoPass account during that same window.  That means you will be able to access, edit and download all your photos, just like you can with Memory Maker.  You will also have access to any attraction videos and Animated Magic Shots linked to your Disney PhotoPass account - just be sure you're wearing a MagicBand with your Annual Pass linked to have those added automatically.

I was a little confused by the window of time you will have to access and download your content, so I checked with Disney PhotoPass directly to be extra sure I was giving you the correct information.  They confirmed that with the Disney Platinum Pass, that window starts on the activation date (which may not be the same as the purchase date) and ends on the expiration date.

I hope that helps, Alissa, and sending pixie dust for a picture perfect visit next month!
