Angela,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Since
Theme Park Reservations are still a thing in 2023 for all guests, on your November trip you technically are still required to go to that park that you reserved first, before you can hop to another park. If you skip visiting the Magic Kingdom and go straight to
EPCOT in the afternoon, the turnstile would flash blue instead of that wonderfully inviting green.
But what else could you do? Well, I reached out to my planDisney pals who have encountered this with their annual passes this year, and their advice is that on that day if you are not going to be able to make it to the Magic Kingdom by 2 p.m., as that time nears you could just cancel that theme park reservation. From that point, with your annual pass, you should be able to "hop" to EPCOT (even though you are not technically hopping!).
As for what happens in 2024 with the scenario as you describe here, annual Passholders can visit a theme park after 2:00 p.m. without a theme park reservation, except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom Park. Some applicable pass blackout dates would apply, but this certainly increases the flexibility for all!
BONUS TIPI am pretty sure that you know this but for anyone reading this response, for those with standard tickets with visits starting on or after January 9, 2024, a theme park reservation will no longer be required.
