Need suggestions for taking an 18mos old on plane. Have never done that before. From Canada, so flight is only 2 1/2 hours long. Not sure how I am going to keep him occupied! Suggestions for my 5 yo would be good too, but I am not that worried about her

    Hi Amy,

I love traveling on a plane to vacation but it can be challenging with a toddler. For both of your children, make sure you have extra food and drinks as delays can happen an you want to be prepared. I would also recommend extra change of clothes for the kids and you as accidents happen. I would also have large zipper top bags on hand for garbage and wet clothes as well. Wipes and napkins help as well.

Depending on your airline, you may have onboard entertainment which could occupy your children. I would also recommend going to the dollar store and buy little treats such as book or puzzle to entertain him. You can wrap them in paper and have him unwrap them to help the time go by. You could do the same for your daughter as well.

I would also make sure you have a drink with a straw or even pretzels or chewy candy to help relieve the ear pressure for take off and landing.

    Wishing you a magical flight!
