Do we need to stay at a Disney resort hotel or have theme part tickets to be able ride monorail and other resort transportation? We will be staying at an official Disney Spring Area hotel for the pre-cruise fun.

Hello Connie!  Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am excited to hear that you will soon be enjoying your high seas adventure with Captain Mickey!  It is even BETTER that you are spending some time at Walt Disney World Resort prior to heading to Port Canaveral.  I always love to sneak in some extra Disney time by stopping by the Most Magical Place on Earth before our cruises.

You do not need to have theme park tickets or stay on property to utilize any of Disney's onsite complementary transportation, including the legendary monorail.  If you are staying at one of the Disney Springs area hotels, the easiest way to start your adventure is by heading to the transportation hub at Disney Springs.  From here you can catch a bus to any of the resorts or parks.  One of the best places to catch the monorail for a ride around the Seven Seas Lagoon is from Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Here, you could also catch breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of the best character dining experiences in all of Walt Disney World - Chef Mickey's.  It is a great way to meet Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto while enjoying a great buffet.

Another new and unique dining experience with character is Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White.  Catch a bus to Disney's Wilderness Lodge to meet Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy and the Evil Queen during your stay!

    Enjoy making memories!  Angie
