Hi there! Do I need a separate ticket to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party if I have magic kingdom Passe and I am in the park in event night?

    Arman,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a fantastic event, filled with fun, treats, and a festive atmosphere that sets the holiday mood!

Yes, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a separate ticket event, one that you do need to purchase a special event ticket to attend.

Depending upon the date, the general schedule will be that the theme park will officially close around 6 p.m. for guests visiting with standard park tickets. That sounds like the kind of ticket you are starting with here. At that time the park guests who do not have special event tickets for the Christmas party will be guided out of the park. Those guests who have purchased party tickets will be allowed to stay for the party, which often runs until around midnight. Other guests with special event tickets will also be allowed to enter the park on just that ticket alone, typically starting at around 4 p.m.

    So what should you do?

Well, Option 1 is to purchase the special event ticket, so that you can attend the evening party. It is more than just extended time in the park. They host several special, party-only activities and entertainment activities.

For Option 2, you could simply choose to visit the Magic Kingdom on a date when there is no party. On those days when there is no party, the park will be open to standard guests until a more traditional closing time, like 9 or 10 p.m.

My family, on trips where we don’t plan to attend the special event party, will choose to visit the Magic Kingdom on dates when there is no party, so we can stay into the night and enjoy how the park transforms! Either way, the choice is yours!

    BONUS TIP #1
The same rules apply to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party earlier in the year.

    BONUS TIP #2
If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can also enjoy the Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests program. This lets you enter any park 30 minutes before the posted park opening time!

    BONUS TIP #3
For guests already in the Magic Kingdom, and with tickets to attend the party, they do not have to leave and re-enter the park for the party. There are stations strategically located around the park where they can quickly get their party wristbands without leaving the magic.

Please feel free to write me back directly if you have any follow-up questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
