I need to run 10 miles while I am staying at Coranado. I see there is only a 1.5ish mile loop at the resort. Are there safe ways to run to the other resort trails or would it include busy/major roads?

Hi, Jodi! Thanks for taking the time to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I can certainly understand your need to get your training run in. I'm am in constant runDisney training mode, and my husband always looks at me with incredulity when I tell him I need to fit in a quick run before hitting the Parks. My motto is "Will run for Disney!"

New Balance teamed up with Walt Disney World to create running trails for guests to enjoy during their vacation. Although I have stayed at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, I have not had a chance to test out the trails here. I do know that the picturesque 0.75-mile loop around the Lago Dorado lagoon gets bonus points for amazing views. You can extend your run a little longer if you take the paths around the Ranchos and Cabanas areas of the resort.

West Buena Vista Drive is the roadway in front of Coronado Springs, and it can get quite busy. I've been "jogging my memory," and I know I have heard reports of runners taking the sidewalk from here to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, which is approximately one mile. Disney's All-Star Resorts are about one mile further down the road, so you may be able to lengthen your run this way, and then use the 1-mile trail that connects all three of the All-Star Resorts. I recommend double-checking with the front desk of your resort as to the safety of this path.

I hope this helps, Jodi! See ya' real soon!
