Michele,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
I am guessing that you have heard about the fairly new Theme Park Reservation program at Walt Disney World. With this program, after you purchase your theme park tickets, you make a reservation for your primary park for the day. That reservation is required, so you will want to make those plans as soon as possible.
So how do you go about getting a park reservation? No problem, here are the steps you can easily follow to set up your trip to the magic.
- Start by going to the main Walt Disney World website and hovering over My Disney Experience from the top menu, at the far right. In that drop down menu, select "Disney Park Pass System".
- From here you can check theme park reservation availability (by ticket type), purchase park admission (if you don't already have tickets) and make a park reservation. Just follow whichever path meets your needs.
BONUS TIP #1
If you have purchased the Park Hopper option, you can still visit more than that one park in a day. Park Hopping is now available only after 2 pm, and the park to which you hop is subject to availability. I have never been unable to get into that second park for the day, though during busier times of the year it might apply.
BONUS TIP #2
If you secure these theme park reservations now, but down the road you feel like you would rather change up your plans, you can still do that. As long as the park that you would want to change to has availability, you can cancel your initial park reservation and then book your new park. But ALWAYS check that the park you want to change to has availability before you cancel that initial reservation.
BONUS CHECK!
I just checked the calendar for your reported arrival date, and regardless of ticket type (standard theme park ticket or resort hotel package), all four parks appear to be currently available! I would recommend you go in and book those reservations right away.
Write me back if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
