Do we need to make reservations for most restaurants at Disney in advance of our April trip? It's our first time visiting. We want to maximize our experience (like everyone else, of course!). Any tips?

Welcome to planDisney, Holly! You are going to have the best first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks for stopping in to visit us with your planning question.

It’s always a good idea to make dining reservations before your vacation. Right now, you can start making your reservations 60 days ahead of your visit. I invite you to take a look at the incredible table service options you have at the theme parks you will be visiting. Dinner reservations are always a good idea, but I also find that making a reservation at a table service restaurant at lunchtime, provides a nice break for everyone in your party.

Last Fall, I visited the Magic Kingdom Park with my best friend and our children. Our kiddos were thrilled when they learned we would be having lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant, in the heart of Fantasyland. Our noon reservation provided the perfect break for us all to enjoy some air-conditioning, refreshments and a delicious meal. The company was pretty great, too! During our meal, the Beast walked into our dining room to wave hello. It was so fun!

Holly, you can easily make dining reservations for you and your party via your My Disney Experience App. You can also always browse restaurants on your computer. Make sure to link any dining reservation you’ve made to your My Disney Experience account. Your account is a great place to help you keep all of the elements of your vacation organized.

Don’t forget to take a look at the Disney Parks Blog in the weeks before your visit. The blog is the perfect place to help you keep tabs on all the happenings at the Walt Disney World Resort.

I hope this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to come back to see us if you have any more planning questions. We love sharing our planning tips with you!

    Have a magical visit!
