Do I need to make a reservation to join one of the campfires at a WDW resort?

    Hi Kelly,

All the Disney resorts have free movies in the evening and many of them have free campfires as well. There's no need to make reservations for any of this. In my experience, there's never much of crowd at these events, which is part of what makes them so special. Most of the time you'll find a cast member stationed with sticks and marshmallows, with no more than a dozen or so guests enjoying the fire. Just stop by and say hello - you don't even need to be staying at the resort to participate.

You should know that the campfires are sometimes cancelled due to rain or high winds. If these conditions do exist, you may find that the outdoor movies continue to run, but are moved to an indoor location. Check with the front desk of the hotel for the location.

If you're looking for a good time, you may want to check out the largest campfire at WDW - the SingAlong at Fort Wilderness. This is the one campfire with large attendance, usually more than 100 people. Chip & Dale entertain guests, there is cowboy guitarist leading guests in song, then a movie on a large screen outdoors. It's an incredibly sweet way to end a vacation evening. Again, there are no reservations required and all are welcome.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know what else we can do to help.
