Hi Samantha,
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. As one of my favorite Disney songs says, “Goodbye may seem forever, farewell Is like the end, but in my heart is a memory, and there you’ll always be.”
Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park Tickets are
nonrefundable and nontransferable. With that being said, the value of the ticket price does not expire, so there are a few options available to you.
1. You can change the ticket start date to a future date when you can visit Walt Disney World Resort. Note that if you choose to switch to a
higher-priced date, you will need to pay the price difference.
2. You can a
pply the price paid for your current Theme Park tickets to a new ticket in the future. Since the value of the ticket does not expire, as long as you hang on to your original confirmation email with the ticket confirmation number, you can apply the value to a new ticket down the road.
However, I know that neither of these options offers you a full refund of the Theme Park ticket. If you want to discuss your ticket options due to your circumstances with a Cast Member, I highly encourage you to do so. Cast Members at the Disney Travel Operations Center are best able to advise you on the next steps and options. They can be reached at 407-560-2428 between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm EST. As we go into the summer months, wait times can be a little longer than expected, so to make the best use of your time, I recommend reaching out either earlier or later in the day. In my experience, the wait times are a bit more manageable during that time.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss and apologies for not being able to give you the answer you were looking for.
Your Friend at planDisney,
Ashley F.
