How do I apply the value of my unused ticket towards a new ticket and reservation?

    Hiya Jill!

Thank you so much for sending us your question and welcome to planDisney! I see that your trip is coming oh so soon - how excited are you? I know I would be thrilled, and I am honoured that you came to us during your planning process. You have picked an especially magical time to come to visit with The World's Most Magical Celebration in full swing, and I cannot wait for you to create magical memories with your loved ones!

Now let's talk about your tickets! The wonderful thing about tickets is that if you do not use them, depending on the type of ticket, their value does not go away. Indeed, as you know, you can apply the price of the unused ticket to your next theme park ticket purchase of equal or higher value! For me, I was so happy when I found out that I could apply the price of my theme park tickets to my Annual Pass! Now, there are a few ways you can do this. Unfortunately, since expired tickets do not appear in your My Disney Experience account, credits have to be issued by Cast Members. Therefore, you can either contact a Cast Member by phone at  (407) 934-7639 or get help at a ticketing window at the main entrance of any of the four parks. There, you will also be able to purchase new tickets and apply your credit to them, but this can also be done on the phone with a Cast Member.

Once you have purchased your new tickets, be sure to link them to your My Disney Experience account, as that will allow you to make theme park reservations, which are required in addition to valid theme park admission. I always recommend checking the calendar of reservations availability before making reservations to ensure that you do not have any surprises. If the tickets you intend on purchasing are the ones you will be using for your upcoming vacation, do not worry! As of today, February 11th, availability is still wide open, so you should not have issues getting the reservations you want. I would simply keep an eye on the calendar just in case!

I hope this was helpful, Jill, and that you have the most magical, wonderful time on your upcoming Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. To quote one of my favourite Disney movies, we're all in this together!

    Have a magical day,
